This is an interactive
map with all the record breaking extreme weather events in the USA in 2011. In the
year 2011 there were every month 3,251!!! weather records broken across the USA.
That is an incredible amount of broken records and that means that in total
there were 39,012 broken weather records across the USA alone. These number are
truly staggering and asks of course the question: how is that possible. Produces
nature itself so much extreme weather or have humans something to do with.
Personally I think that 39,012 is a number too large to ignore and is an
indication that humans do have influence. Just imagine the numbers worldwide. But
making a map does not provide scientific evidence. The total damage due to
extreme weather in the USA in 2011 was 53 billion dollar, excluding health
costs.
The map is
interactive and via this Link you can access it. It is a really good map and
shows the sheer size of the all the broken records. Besides it is very well made
and very interesting to watch. This map was made by the Natural Resources
Defence Council (NRDC) Here
